As plant-based meats sizzle on more grills worldwide, they promise a greener plate and a healthier diet.

Many plant based meats contain carcinogenic smoked flavors, and high amounts of salt which can spike your blood pressure, leading to cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, kidney disease, and stomach cancer.
Many of these plant based meats are processed using high-temperature extrusion which is not healthy.
From potential allergens to genetically modified ingredients and high levels of additives, the safety and nutritional balance of these lab meat products can vary widely. (pause)
Plus, are you getting all the nutrients you need?
Many on plant based meat diets suffer from lack of calcium, potassium, magnesium, zinc, and vitamin B12. Which can lead to other health issues.
Plant based meats also lack amino acids like creatine, taurine, and anserine which are found in natural meats and support brain and muscle health.
So, next time you pick up that plant-based steak, remember –
it’s not just about swapping ingredients.
